If possible please try to telephone reception before 11am if you require a home visit.
Home visits can be requested for patients who are severely ill and cannot be mobilised. Please request visits before 11am whenever possible as this allows the Doctor to plan their day accordingly.
Late requests often lead to disruption of the appointment system and excessive waiting times for others. As lack of transport is not a reason for requesting a home visit, we will be happy to provide you with details of local taxi firms.
Appointments can be made by calling the Medicentre on 01942 483755 between 8am - 9am Mon to Fri or via our online services. We aim to provide appointments to see the Doctors or the Nurse based on your needs.
The Appointment system aims to provide the best possible service. Although we will make every effort to maintain continuity of care, please bear in mind that this is a three partner practice and it may not always be possible to see your usual Doctor.
Please note the Doctors’ availability is subject to holidays, study days and meetings they may have to attend.
Pre-bookable telephone appointments are available daily.
From time to time the Practice undertakes the training of medical students and if it is proposed that a student attend your consultation with the doctor or nurse, you will be asked if you are in agreement with this. Obviously, if you do not wish the student to attend, the Practice will respect your wishes.
We are now also a training Practice and a qualified doctor who is undergoing GP training may be available for appointments.
If there are no appointments available at the practice these can be accessed via GP Alliance. For further information please visit: http://www.wigangpalliance.org/home
If you are registered for our online services these are available to check online in your medical records, once they have been actioned by a GP or Nurse.
You can also call between 11am and 6pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
