Our new service Askmygp now means that you can request help from a GP at the practice using a smartphone, tablet or computer anytime, anywhere.
We will respond within 24hrs during normal working days and if you need to see a GP you will be offered an appointment. Otherwise you may get a telephone consultation, advice or you maybe asked to collect a prescription.

At the Medicentre in Ashton in Makerfield the doctors and nurses take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We run many clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.
Our Practice is a multidisciplinary team. It comprises two GP's, a Practice Nurse, a Health Care Assistant, a Practice Manager, Office Manager, six Receptionists and a Secretary. We also have several other community professionals attached to our Practice. They include Midwives, District Nurses, Health Visitors and Counsellors

The Medicentre have made the decision for the health, safety and well-being of our staff and patients, to suspend all online booking until further notice. Repeat prescriptions can be requested via the online service as usual. Please use the Askmygp link above to contact the surgery to request a telephone appointment or any question you may have.
Please do not come to surgery if you have any of the following symptoms, regardless of travel:
Fever, sore throat, shortness of breath or any other respiratory condition and/or bowel symptoms.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and hope that our patients do understand and appreciate the necessary measures we have put in place to ensure the safety of all concerns is maintained.
